Current Exhibits
The current Bronx Museum exhibits inspire thoughtful reflection. The FUTURA 2000: BREAKING OUT exhibit is currently on view through March 30th, 2025. The exhibit traces the artist’s evolution from graffiti to contemporary abstraction. Over his five-decade career, Futura 2000 has created sculptures, drawings, prints, studies, and collaboration pieces.
The other exhibit is a virtual display, not housed at the museum. The Party of Twelve, Please? is on digital display through April 6th, 2025. The exhibit features twelve prints, each created by one of the Bronx Museum’s Fall 2024 teen council members. This display gives a voice to New York City youth.
Upcoming Exhibits
To spark inspiration and conversation, the Bronx Museum regularly updates its exhibits. One upcoming show is the WORKING KNOWLEDGE exhibit. It will be on display from April 11th through July 6th, 2025. This curated exhibit will feature artwork from eleven artists and collectives. The exhibit encourages visitors to engage with the art and spark grassroots change.
Another upcoming exhibit is the art on view by Reverend Joyce McDonald. On view from July 25th through October 19th, 2025, the exhibit will feature sculptures throughout McDonald’s career. As an ordained minister, her work features themes of spirituality and service. Visitors will explore her experiences with hardship, loss, devotion, grace, serenity, and hope. Spanning her career, the exhibit showcases her early air-dry clay pieces and recent glazed ceramics.
2025 Gala & Art Auction
The Bronx Museum’s spring gala and art auction is a highly anticipated annual event. This year, it will take place on April 7th. From 6-11 pm, attendees will enjoy cocktails, an awards dinner, an art auction, and a lively after-party. The 2025 Gala & Art Auction honors FUTURA 2000, Ebony G. Patterson, and Abbott Stillman for their impact on art. Entertainment for the evening includes emcee Marysol Castro, auctioneer Kimberly Pirtle, and a performance by Amber Mark. Due to high demand, purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.
